We’re looking for an experienced Chief or Senior Accountant to join an international pharmaceutical company in Cuxhaven.

This is a hands-on role with responsibility for the German accounting function, working closely with local management, Group Finance and international stakeholders.

Whilst experience in a senior accounting role working for an international group is preferable, applicants from an international audit background, particularly from a Big 4 will be considered.

Your role

• Own monthly, quarterly and annual closings under HGB & IFRS
• Oversee GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets & Inventory
• Manage external auditors, tax-related accounting and compliance
• Support Group reporting and consolidation
• Work closely with local management and the international Headquarters
• Drive process improvement and digitalisation
• Provide technical support, coaching and leadership to the accounting team of 7

Package

• Basic salary circa 100 EUR per annum (13 salaries)
• Flexitime Monday to Friday 7am-6pm (40 hours per week)
• Onsite 5 days per week in Cuxhaven
• Open to discuss relocation support
• 30 days holiday per annum

About you

• Experienced in a senior accounting role (ideally for an international group)
• Strong knowledge of HGB & IFRS
• Adept working with accounting software (ideally SAP Finance)
• Strong Excel and analytical skills
• Fluent English; German is highly desirable (or willingness to learn German on-site each week)
• Degree in Finance/Accounting or Bilanzbuchhalter IHK (or equivalent)
• Structured, proactive and collaborative approach
• Candidates must be EU citizens or hold a valid EU passport and have the right to work in Germany
